I have a very low expectation that package spices can be good, but, I’m willing to try almost anything. As a baseline, I use Popeye’s red beans and rice, which I find tasty. This was better probably due to the freshness of the beans and spices. As the dehydrated vegetables rehydrate you end up with something that lends to thinking this is made from scratch. Will this replace making it from scratch with a smoked pork shank? No, but it’s 80% there for 10% of the effort. I’ll be making more again soon. Nuff said.
As with the pinto seasoning packet, you will not regret these for an amazing meal .
