Red Kidney Beans

I've only used these red kidney beans to make red beans and rice...so far, but it's so good people ask for the recipe. I kind of made up my recipe, but I do specify that it won't be right without Camellia brand red kidney beans and plenty of Crystal brand hot sauce in the beans and on the cooked rice. I make a big batch with a smoked ham hock, andouille sausage and a stick of butter. I parcel out what's left and put it in the freezer and it freezes beautifully! Then, take out what you need the next time and gently thaw in the microwave, then put in a frying pan with a little water and cook gently. I live just North of Seattle, but you'd never know it when you eat my red beans and rice. Thank you Camellia brand!

This works well for me. Some times it may be all red beans, others times it may a mix of differenr beans including lentils. I always have Camellia beans on hand when I can't find them at the local grocer.

After receiving a bad batch of Camilla's beans I decided to write the company. Not so much with a gripe but more of a concern I wanted to make sure that they knew that their product was going out like this because I had never received one in this bad of shape before. After responding to my email someone from the company assured me that they would make it right and they did It's great to know that customer service still exists like this Thank you Camilla's my favorite local brand!
